I hope that everyone enjoyed the long weekend and were able to spend some time relaxing and connecting with loved
ones. This week, we are expecting an announcement from the provincial government as to what the remainder of the
school year will look like. As soon as we have additional information, we will be sharing it with staff, students and
families. That being said, we are still planning at least two more weeks of Distance Learning. I would ask that you
continue to stay in good contact with your child’s educators and reach out for support when you need it. In working
closely with the school team, we can help you prioritize the academic tasks available and offer you, assistance with the
Distance Learning Program. Once again, I would like to stress that we understand the variety of challenges that families
are struggling with right now, so we only ask that you do, what you are able to. I expect that there will be a lot of
information coming forward in the coming days and weeks, so please check the School Board’s Website regularly.
From the Library:
A great family activity is to create a family joke jar. Let each member of the family write favorite jokes or ones they have
found online on slips of paper and put them into an empty jar. Keep the Family Joke Jar handy for those times when
everyone could use a good laugh!

Grade 8 Student Transitions
As students progress from elementary school to secondary school, important personal student information is shared which eases each
student’s transition to secondary school. Sharing this information also improves our ability to program effectively to benefit all
students. The collection and use of personal student information for such purposes is authorized under the Education Act. Please note
that all information used for the transition process is limited, secure and protected at all times. Please contact Mr. Daryl Halliday,
Superintendent of Education, if you would like more information about the transition process at Chris Hadfield Public School.
