Dear Chris Hadfield Families,
Firstly, we would like to thank all of our families for their patience, understanding and kindness as
we have worked through the most challenging school start up, in our over 20 years of being in
As we have been communicating with you, we are planning a significant school re-organization
which will affect all staff, students and classrooms. We have had nearly 300 students move to
remote/online learning, and therefore we will need to re-deploy at least 15 of our teachers and
DECEs to those classes.
In doing so, we are collapsing 13 classrooms and making new classes, set to
begin on Tuesday, September 29th
We cannot emphasize enough, what a challenging task this re-organization process has become (in
the midst of an ongoing pandemic), as we attempt to create new classes, while adhering to the
new enhanced health and safety measures. That being said, our staff will work diligently to ensure
a smooth transition.
Families will be notified of their child’s new class on Monday, September 28th. All families will
receive a letter, indicating their child’s class placement. Students will be moved into their new
classroom at the end of day on Monday, September 28th and they will begin the day with their new
teacher and classmates on Tuesday, September 29th
We would ask that families talk to their
child(ren) about these upcoming changes so that they are prepared for classroom and/or teacher
Unfortunately, we are unable to consider any parent request for class placements. Class
assignments will be final until we re-organize a second time on February 1, 2021. Please ensure
that you maintain consistent communication with your child’s educators as this will promote a
positive schooling experience as we look forward to the 2020-2021 school year.
We appreciate all of your support through this process and we feel fortunate to work in an
outstanding school community.
