TECHNOLOGY RETURN: On Monday, February 8th students who have been loaned technology (i.e.
chromebook, ipads, SEA, etc.) from the school are asked to return it to school on this day. There are two
options for families to return the technology and charger. They can send the technology (with charger) back
with their child who can hand it into their teacher, or staff will be available from 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. to
receive returned technology with charger, outside the main doors of the school. It is important that we
receive the borrowed technology (with charger) back at school on Monday, so that we are able to disinfect
them and prepare them for student use as in-person learning has returned. Thank you for your cooperation.
CLASS RE-ORGANIZATION: In December, the SCDSB emailed all families a survey, asking parents/guardians
to indicate whether they were interested in changing learning platforms for their child (i.e. Learn @ Home to
in-person or vice-versa). Results of this survey has been shared with the school and we are working on
finalizing class placements for Term 2 based on the information provided to us. Due to space in classes, not
all requests are able to be accommodated. If your child will be moving classes, you will be notified by the
school by end of day, February 1st. New class placements will start on February 17th (whether we have
returned to in-person learning or not), which is the beginning of Term 2. We are not accepting any requests
for class placements from families, because much of the changes were facilitated centrally by the school
board. If you have not heard from the school by Friday, February 5th, then your child will remain in their
current class.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: If someone in your household or in your neighbourhood is turning 4 in
2021, it is time for them to register to start Kindergarten this coming September! Registration can take

PARKING LOT: The entrance coming into our school on West Park Avenue is closed from 9:00 a.m. until 3:45
p.m. This entrance will be used for bussing and Emergency vehicles only during this time. We have had to
make this decision due to the numbers of vehicles speeding through this area, creating unsafe conditions.
There have also been numerous occasions where people have parked in the fire safety zones preventing
Emergency vehicles from accessing these locations. Visitors can access our parking lot behind the school
using the Miller Park Avenue entrance during school hours. We would ask that parents/guardians please
follow the directions of our staff on duty in the parking lot, before and after school. We are providing
direction in the interest of student safety. We would also ask that our disabled parking spaces are not
blocked. The parking lot continues be closed from 3:20 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. each day to ensure minimal traffic
on school property during dismissal time. We have connected with South Simcoe Police and By-Law officers
who have informed us that they will be monitoring our school neighbourhood regularly during school entry
and exit times. Above all, we would ask that respectful and safe practices are top priorities on our school
grounds.
